Oh hell yeah! Final Cut Pro geeks have been speculating for months about what Apple would unveil at NAB. Speculation ranged from a high end product called Final Cut Extreme to an ultimate motion graphics app code named “Phenomenon.” The actual announcement may not have lived up to all the excitement, but it’s still very cool.

Apple has upgraded the entire Final Cut Studio as well as introducing a new Final Cut Server that will allow workflow, asset and project management. I’m personally the most excited about the introduction of Color a new application in FCS that allows very high-end color grading. To get all the details, check out the wonderfully designed product pages on Apple’s site.

I recommend the Coen Brothers video to anybody who is interested in color grading, even if you have no intention of using Final Cut Studio.
