Make your own Boom Mic Mount
-

One of the things that I love about the world of no-budget movie making is the poverty-inspired ingenuity. Resourceful filmmakers have devised ways to build D.I.Y. dollies, c-stands, car mounts and just about other piece of production technology. But here’s one I haven’t seen: a $3 mount for your boom mic.
Film Flap’s Scott Eggleston recently bought a brand new shotgun mic, but didn’t have a proper mount for his boom pole. The normal way of thinking would be to use your credit card and order a new mount. But Scott is a true independent. Instead of spending more money, he devised a mic mount using only a pencil holder, a piece of PVC, 2 hose clamps and 2 rubber bands. Total cost: $3 + some time and brainpower.Check out the full tutorial at Film Flap.
