SAVAGE HARVEST 2 headed to DVD

Elite Entertainment will be releasing Wicked Pixel’s Savage Harvest 2: October Blood on August 14, 2007. SH2, written and directed by Jason Christ, has been in the works for a long time - since 2002 in fact. “This movie has been a part of my life for so long, it’s hard to believe that it’s finished and ready to be unleashed,” says Christ. “Given the budgetary restrictions, I’m extremely pleased with how the movie turned out.  I set out to create something a little different with Savage Harvest 2: October Blood; to create an atmospheric, character-driven horror movie that went beyond genre expectations.  I’d like to think that I accomplished this goal, but ultimately the audience will be the judge.  My hope is that the enjoyment and satisfaction that came from making this movie will translate into a similar experience for the audience that watches it.”

October Blood is a sequel to the underground cult favorite directed by Wicked Pixel founder Eric Stanze. Stanze, who served as Executive Producer and as a lead actor in the sequel, said: “I loved Elite Entertainment’s DVD releases of Night of the Living Dead, Re-Animator, Evil Dead, Communion, and other movies.  Like most cult film fans, I’ve been aware of Elite since their pioneering years releasing special edition laserdiscs.  To partner with Elite on the release of one of our flicks is pretty exciting.”

The 2-disc collector’s edition DVD release is scheduled to feature three commentary tracks, a behind-the-scenes documentary, deleted scenes, outtakes, three bonus short films, and more. “The special feature I’m most excited about is the release of my experimental short film The Quiet Place.  It’s a quirky little film, and I’m very excited to have it make its home video debut on this DVD release.”
