If you’re not a Mac Geek, you can ignore this post. As a preview to their upcoming NAB event on April 15th, Apple has unveiled their new line of 8 Core Mac Pros. These Macs may not have been significantly modified on the outside, but open the hood and you’ll notice a difference. The top of the line is a 3.0 Ghz, 8 core Intel Xeon model. Internally, these Macs can accomodate up to 3 Terabytes of storage and 16 GB of RAM. So what does this mean for Micro-Filmmakers? After all the cost of this machine is probably out of most of our price ranges. But the arrival of these new Macs foreshadow some amazing software that should be announced at NAB. Final Cut Extreme? Phenomenon? The anticipation is killing me!
