The Pros and Cons of HDV

There’s still a lot of information/disinformation regarding the HDV format. Since it’s still a relatively new format, there are a lot of areas where techniques are being developed on the fly to push the envelope. In the MicroCinema scene, it’s already been used very successfully on many movies including Marc Fratto’s Last Rites of the Dead. The cost and accessiblity of HDV mean it is a format that micro-filmmakers should be ready to exploit.
